Khammam, March 7, 2024:Unemployed Physical Education graduates in Khammam have launched an indefinite protest (Nirahara Deeksha) demanding an increase in PET (Physical Education Teacher) posts in the upcoming DSC recruitment. The protest was organized by the Sports Students Federation at Gurudwaram Khammam, bringing attention to the ongoing neglect of sports students and professionals.

Protesters expressed anger over the government’s failure to fill long-pending vacancies. According to the students, while over 1,600 PET posts are vacant across Telangana, the state government has announced recruitment for only 182 posts in the upcoming DSC. This massive gap has left thousands of sports graduates without opportunities, despite their qualifications and years of dedication to sports.

The federation emphasized that this struggle is not just about jobs, but about securing the future of sports in Telangana. Without proper recruitment, schools and colleges will continue to lack PETs, resulting in a weakened sports culture at the grassroots level.

The Sports Students Federation vowed to continue its fight until every vacant post is filled and justice is delivered to sports students across the state.
